if your being pulled down under water by a big dragon.
Step 1: wake up.
Step 2: wait for the dragon to sink deeper down (but without you in its claws)
Step 3: fall asleep again and reaper where where you were before you woke up.
step 4: swim upward till you reach the surface
step 5: breath in.
Done
Probably not. There’s still the Nightmare Realm to deal with: Its king, who I suspect is their REAL enemy and Nic just his sock puppet; the NR troops and pirates inside Dreamland; and especially all the human children they kidnapped and appear to still be holding. They need to figure out what happened to Arthur (AND the pendant, if they ever want to get Dan to DL). There’s the island of what’s-its-name that Nic spoke of, which they’re probably going to have to find and go to to set things aright. And rebuilding Dreamland, which could be a problem if some of the races there start having second thoughts about having a human – and especially Alex – as King…
Wow! Nasti impresses me more and more. No doubt left that she’s , indeed, prepared to die for Alex. I that isn’t love, I don’t know what is..
@Scott: Sorry about LinkedIn.. You were in my adress listn and were automatically added. My resume must look like regular gibberish to You, as it’s all in Dutch.. 😛
YEahhh, I can just see the next panel, elfy over there is looking up triumphantly, and everyone else starts to scream, “swim away! look out!” she can’t figure out what they mean, and meanwhile in the background Nic is slowly rising out of the water…….
Hey Alex, you know how you were upset that the sword recorded all of your mistakes? Well every future king will know that the great and mighty King Alexander was saved by an elf princess. *evil grin*
Seriously though, THANK GOD THE FALLING IS OVER!! That and college but that’s another, more painful story.
I was always told the definition of sleep is “an altered state of consciousness”, but nothing I have at hand gives that definition.
Still, in my mind, unconsciousness and sleep are not quite the same thing. You can be knocked unconscious, but it doesn’t quite do the same thing, physiologically, as sleep does. At least, that’s what I was taught.
I’m envisioning tomorrow’s page. It’ll be exactly the same, except in the third panel Nic bursts out of the water. The expressions on everyone’s faces will be much more gloomy, except Bognok’s, which will be exactly the same. The word bubbles, reading from left to right, will read “NO!”, “INCONCEIVABLE!”, and “GAH!”
Heck, we could have a whole series of these, with a bunch of random people popping out of the water, and everyone onshore getting increasingly confused. It would be glorious!
Hard to say we are looking from below and Bognok is bigger than nas, but it does kinda of look like Bagnok has grown even more since the earlier frames.
Eee makes a valid point- there are a lot of loose ends in this plot that still need tying up. Thankfully, we know that Scott will tie them up and do so without contradicting himself.
well, if he is ‘breathing’ in dreamland and he ‘inhales’ water, would it make it real to him that he is drowning? thats kinda what i was thinking when i wrote it lol
I wonder if being unconscious in Dreamland will bring Alex to the same *state* as King Arthur was. If so, he may either bring back that amulet that Merlin was making, or he may bring back a clue as to where the amulet is when he wakes up in DreamLand. Of course, I think that amulet is the key to bring Dan into Dreamland.
“There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. All dead there’s usually only one thing you can do … go through his pockets and look for loose change.”
It toke me a month to finally catch up with this! I am a 12 year old and I love this story, I swear when this becomes a movie I am gonna go to the first outings! I think it will be the first movie ever to be made after a web comic! I LOVE THIS STORY.
1. You’re incorrect. Look up Cowboys and Aliens.
2. By registering with Gravatar you are in violation of Gravatar’s TOS which prohibits persons under the age of 12 from registering on their site, as allowing it would violate the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. By posting here, you are also putting this site in violation of the law as well.
Being a jerk to the other adults on the site just makes you an ordinary internet troll. Being a jerk to a 12-year-old? That deserves someone pointing out how much of a jerk you are being.
1. So a 12-year-old wasn’t familiar with “Cowboys and Aliens” (whatever that might be). So what!? I’ve never heard of it either.
2. 12 years old is NOT “under the age of 12”. I bet all of Dreamland’s young readers could have managed that math. Not that it matters, because in the Gravatar TOS – here’s the link – there is no such age limit; in fact, the number “12” does not appear on that page at all. So I guess you’re just trying to scare a child for the sole purpose of being a cad?
@Dream Lands Only Child Commentor:
Welcome, fellow Dreamer! There are actually a number of children of various ages that read this comic, starting with Scott’s own sons (they’re about 8 now, aren’t they, Scott?). I’m sure Sophia (age 12 or 13, can’t remember exactly – sorry Sophia!) is around here somewhere too. A few of us try to remind each other that there are kids present, so comments should (mostly) remain pretty kid-friendly. Pay no attention to the trolls!
gasp!
love these pages!
ow wait and… first!:p
ooo i hope alex is ok, he was under longer then she was and he was knocked out.
I dunno… her right hand is still a bit high up for a happy ending… oh wait.. you meant as in saving him from drowning. Never mind.
You never know. Sleeping Beauty here (Alex) might need a waking up with a kiss. =P
…Teehee~ 8D Well their faces would suit the moment, kind of, if her hand was lower.
Treforce´s guide to survive dream land:

One of my dream powers is underwater breathing. ;P
Bognok: Well shi… shiskebabs!!! O_O
Mermaids, just goes to show you can’t rely on them 😉
So – is Paddington a really long way away, or has he shrunk?
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/the-dreamland-chronicles/chapter-16/page-1227/
Bognok: Huh. Elves have REALLY big lungs…
13th!!!! 😀
Ok…YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I’ll bet you never new Nastajia was a SEAL….
“knew” 🙂
Sooooo is this the end of the Comic? seeing as the Main Antagonist is Likely dead?
Who knew? Elves can swim!
Nice work Nas’, now let’s give ol’ Alex mouth to mouth!
Yay, Nastajia! I wonder if she had to kick Nic to make him let go of Alex, or if his grip was just loose…
You forgot step 6.
6. Profit
Even more squishy! 😀
Bognok: INCONCEIVABLE!!!
I didn’t even know she was in the Navy! ;o)
“You keep using that word… I do not think it means what you think it means.”
UG.. there’s got to be a rule against saying that on every flipping page. sheez
Little… anticlimactic.
Ooooh Yesss..Otherwise I’d like to volunteer and play the unconscious knight *SLAPP!!* gets Elf-slapped seriously.. 😆
Yes, that..and ehh..that and ehh that^^ and that too and..and…
Well yes..all of that.
Actually, that’s Step 7. Step 6 would be:
6. ???
I so want to start a ‘first punch’ rule.
YEahhh, I can just see the next panel, elfy over there is looking up triumphantly, and everyone else starts to scream, “swim away! look out!” she can’t figure out what they mean, and meanwhile in the background Nic is slowly rising out of the water…….
So what happens when you get knocked unconscious in a dream? Isn’t that a little redundant? Unconscious when unconscious?
Awww, Felicity fell over with excitement. xD
I just had to say, the water with the rain falling on it in the first two panels is GORGEOUS.
I was sadly thinking the same. Nice rendering but this whole scenario felt rushed.
And the crowd goes wild!
Oh yes. And Nastajia’s parents to find: Can’t forget about them…
Echoing Paddington’s sentiments: Woohoo!!!! Go Nastajia!!!
(Um, that IS Nastajia’s cape in the water to their right… right?)
So epic magic armor does not have built in breathing apparatus like it has a built in shield? That sucks.
Really? No mermaids? Really?
?
a dream, whiting a dream.. INCEPTION!
Not without the helmet ,I gather
I was always told the definition of sleep is “an altered state of consciousness”, but nothing I have at hand gives that definition.
Still, in my mind, unconsciousness and sleep are not quite the same thing. You can be knocked unconscious, but it doesn’t quite do the same thing, physiologically, as sleep does. At least, that’s what I was taught.
The sword will also record that Nicodemus never really saved face after being smack-talked by a ‘lowly’ human.
I’m envisioning tomorrow’s page. It’ll be exactly the same, except in the third panel Nic bursts out of the water. The expressions on everyone’s faces will be much more gloomy, except Bognok’s, which will be exactly the same. Hah…
Mine, too.
Oh he gets out just like that?
Isn’t it a bit easy?
no, since scott’s been saying for a week now, every day, “THIS IS NOT THE END OF DREAMLAND.”
“And for those of you that were wondering…this is NOT the end of the Dreamland Chronicles.
This is Chapter 16. I have 24 chapters plotted out.
So there is much more to the story to go. I promise.”
dam, nast is one good swimmer. O.o
wonder what happened to nick? he was holding on to alex pretty tightly.
Perhaps a Screaming Eel? 😉
Hard to say we are looking from below and Bognok is bigger than nas, but it does kinda of look like Bagnok has grown even more since the earlier frames.
Paddington voiced my exact response to the third panel. Woohoo!
That, or Alex is a taller than we think, and if so, she probably just found out too. Would explain her face. 😉
Hey all!
Meetings Meetings and more meetings today.
Wednesday’s page may be a bit late.
Sorry.
teehee
Bognok doesn’t look as happy as I thought he would be.
I would point out this is designed as a children’s comic and some children- including the creator’s own- do read this….
You mentioned that already with the island thing.
Eee makes a valid point- there are a lot of loose ends in this plot that still need tying up. Thankfully, we know that Scott will tie them up and do so without contradicting himself.
AGREED That is awesomely rendered. I’m getting sleepy looking at it (rain puts me to sleep)!
“Ah crud, the brats survived… So much for me getting an ABOVE-GROUND Kingdom.”
^ Is what I imagine his thoughts.
yeah.. i know… it’s a bit stupid…
i promise I will try to not say it anymore ok!?
Profit?
keep dreaming.
…
*self facepalm*
well, if he is ‘breathing’ in dreamland and he ‘inhales’ water, would it make it real to him that he is drowning? thats kinda what i was thinking when i wrote it lol
No need to be rude about it…
What gbfluteman said. Really… >.>
He’s just mostly dead ;P
Random speculation …
I wonder if being unconscious in Dreamland will bring Alex to the same *state* as King Arthur was. If so, he may either bring back that amulet that Merlin was making, or he may bring back a clue as to where the amulet is when he wakes up in DreamLand. Love the look of the water in the first two panels, looks amazing!
“There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. All dead there’s usually only one thing you can do … go through his pockets and look for loose change.”
“She doesn’t get eaten by the eels at this time,”
“What?”
“The eel doesn’t get her. I’m explaining this to you because you look nervous.”
I was pretty worried for a minute there!
Does he even have pockets? 😉
Funny, that was actually pretty fast!…
Oh, wait. I just read Monday’s and yesterday’s comics together…
I can’t tell what Felecity is standing in. Is it a rock, or a puddle, or something else.
Love the texture on the water, and that fluid sploosh! is awesome.
Time for “The Kiss of Life”
(Cough-hack)
“What-the? ‘Staj-?”
“Shh…pretend to be still-drowned…”
It toke me a month to finally catch up with this! I am a 12 year old and I love this story, I swear when this becomes a movie I am gonna go to the first outings! I think it will be the first movie ever to be made after a web comic! I LOVE THIS STORY.
Then I hope the whole thing went over their heads. I’m not condoning or condoning.. Just saying I hope it went over there heads..
Interesting choice of name, lol
And, who doesn’t love this story? Completely amazing. Good choice in comics, Dream. =P
Thank you!
And welcome!
🙂
you are very wrong. I am a 13 year old girl, and I have been reading this for a year so there 😛
Have you decided not to put up the page or something?
wow either she has six fingers or her thumb is a beast!!!
and now that reminds me of the Matrix! =D
and yeah, don’t know about being unconscious.. but if he dies, according to inception, he would go into limbo =3 maybe then he can meet Arthur? =D
People who drown don’t inhale water

How! :O
Actually she’d be more of a dolphin, if the merfolk got to her and Alex in time.
Captain Jack Sparrow: Did everyone see that? because she will NOT be doing that again…
Love paddington’s “Woo Hoo” Very pad.
Alright, kinda disappointed it wasn’t Alex who got in the killing blow, but that’s still a nice outcome for Dreamland.
